Sitting volleyball is a game that, until now, has only existed within parasports. The game was invented after World War II in the Netherlands for war-wounded soldiers. The game has developed a lot since then, and today is aimed at those who are challenged with playing standing volleyball and/or who want to be part of a sport where everyone, with or without disabilities, can participate. The game is played by anyone who can move around on a floor. The players sit on the floor, and you move around using your arms. The court is smaller than a regular volleyball court, and the net is only 1.15m high. The game is played according to normal volleyball rules, with the exception that you are allowed to block the serve. You must be strong from the waist up and have the ability to use both arms.
